2 Thessalonians 1

"All this trouble is a clear sign that God has decided to make you fit for the kingdom. You're suffering now, but justice is on the way." 2 Thessalonians 5 The Message

We all make bad decisions, and do things that hurt each other and ourselves. Sometimes, I get overwhelmed with the pain I know my words and actions have caused, especially to those closest to me. Forgiveness doesn't eliminate the consequences of my actions, but someday God will justify, or correct, all of my errors, and all of the wrongs committed against me will be reversed.

To me that is what true justice is, not punishment, but making things right, the way they should have been. In the same way we "justify" a line of type so it's made perfect, God will heal our wounds by reversing the results of our hurtful behavior. The lost dog will come home, the unspoken words said, the dead child brought back to life and placed safe in their mother's arms.

What amazes me is all of the things God is able to restore here and now, on this sinful planet. How he can make the filthy pure, warm cold hearts, and bring the distant close. That is how I know someday all things will be made right, because in many ways I have already seen glimpses of heaven.
